We're back from our winter endeavour down the pacific coast highway. It was an incredible time. Traveling from our home on Vancouver Island through Victoria, BC all the way to Palm Desert, California and back again. Who knew doing a road trip like this during the off season could be so rewarding. Mind you it was winter, so we really got lucky with great weather (sunny's on, snow chains off). We welcomed off season rates and enjoyed travel spots that weren't overcrowded with tourists. The Pacific coast is epicly beautiful, a jagged coastline with pocket beaches and incredible scenery. The food scene - equally epic, and oh so delicious. Add to that a progressive yoga scene, design creatives and bold young start-ups, which make for endless exploring. Being back on the road we really felt in our element of adventure. So fortunate to see many amazing cities, some that will definitely be featured in our up coming editions of the Yogi Travel Guides. So for now enjoy some of our favourite moments, memories and photographs from our trip!

Loved cardamon coffee and comfy beds in Astoria, pale blue skies with warm winter sun in Seaside, and cleansing charcoal water and green juice in Ashland. Oregon is magnificently beautiful and the coast is one of our favourite places to visit. The Oregon coast was a real treat to start our trip and a lovely way to celebrate a big birthday.
Oh Portland. Your secret has long been out. We know your amazing and love coming back to visit each time. We love the delicious artisanal and creative food, the one of a kind shops, craft beer, high consciousness, and friendly souls. It's a place where young people come to retire, so says Portlandia. Not quite ready to retire but we will surely be back to visit - real quick.
SF is always on. There is a palatable creative vibe here and creatives don't shy away from achieving their best. We loved the niche shops, health food markets, yoga scene and amazing restaurants...we had the best chai, ramen and dumplings here. A trip highlight was attending the one day only Remodelista Market and connected with so many inspiring artisans and makers from the coast. Definitely a city to keep exploring over and over again.
We'll be back next week with the second part of our photo journal series. Have a lovely weekend all!
